Privacy policy

Effective 6 November 2026. This policy covers the Sunava website (sunava.app) and the Sunava apps.

Sunava has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and we do not sell any information.

What stays on your device

These stay on your device and are not sent to us: the wish you write with a lantern, your sound setting, and whether you have seen the guide. In the app, the evening reminder is also scheduled on your device and goes through no server.

What reaches our server

• The name you enter. It is sent when you enter a room and shown to the others there while you are in the room. It is also saved on your device for next time. A name can be left out, and you then appear as a visitor.
• A random device code. Your device makes it the first time you enter. It holds no personal details. It lets you find your own offerings again.
• Your offerings. The kind, the colour or scent you chose, the time and the device code. They burn for 24 hours and are then removed.
• Your actions in a room. Where you walk and what you do are passed on to others in the room and are not kept. Bows are counted by the hour as a total, without saying who made them.
• Your IP address. It is used in scrambled form while you are connected and for a short time after, to limit abuse, and is not kept after that.

Who else handles it

The site and rooms run on Cloudflare, which processes connections, including IP addresses, as our service provider. Connections are encrypted. Because Cloudflare runs worldwide, information may be processed outside your country. App stores also handle downloads under their own policies.

Your choices

• To remove what is on your device, clear this site's data in your browser or uninstall the app.
• To turn off the reminder, untick it before entering a room or turn off notifications in your device settings.
• To ask a question or make a request about your information, write to us. Because there are no accounts, we may not be able to tell which information is yours.

Children

Sunava is not aimed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child's information reached us, please contact us.

Changes

We will update this page and its date when this policy changes.
